Christina's Story

I just want to help people feel better using food! I must say this to everyone when I tell them that I’m an integrative dietitian. My job is to help people reclaim their health and improve their symptoms. It’s easier than you think!

Christina Mandolfo, MS, RDN, CDN, IFNCP, CLT

My journey to becoming a certified integrative dietitian began with my own chronic illnesses. After years of burning the candle at both ends in another profession, my body gave out and forced me to stop everything. I saw many doctors and had many tests during my 1 ½  years of being sick, which included 8 months of bedrest. Fortunately I found the right blend of healthcare professionals who nursed me back to health.

In that time I was introduced to the idea that food can heal. It sounds silly but I never really thought about it like this. Once I learned how to eat the foods that worked for me and to nourish my body, I felt so much better. Why didn’t I know about this sooner and how could I help others with this revelation? It was at that point that I decided to go to graduate school and earn my master’s in dietetics so that I could learn everything possible about the connection between diet and inflammation. I also earned my certification as an Integrative and Functional Nutrition Practitioner to hone my skills and dig deeper into the root cause approach. There is a lot to learn so I am constantly reading, researching, watching webinars, attending conferences and studying this immense and evolving field of nutrition.

I truly feel that my numerous chronic illnesses were given to me for a reason. I became my best health advocate. And now I can help others take control of their health and make choices that work for them.

So when I say I want to help people using food, I mean it! I guide people to choose foods that work for them. I teach simple and manageable techniques that can be used everyday. My biggest reward comes from hearing clients say how much better they feel and that it wasn’t really that hard! Let me help you achieve wellness for life!
